2012 Olympics Rebranding (March 2012)

Summer Olympics in London 2012
This project concerns redesigning the logo and branding on the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Frankly, the current, active logo offends the sensibilities of any sane graphic designer. It looks so thrown together, as though a kindergardener cut and paste it together. The city name and Olympic Rings both appear to be afterthoughts.
Before
The updated version of the logo, based on the Millennium Bridge. Not only does it symbolize the coming together of separate entities, but this bridge also brings historic London into the twenty-first century.
Historic London landmarks juxtaposed with modern thinking and design.
Olympic Torch
Interlocking shapes continue the theme of togetherness as well as echo the sharp curves of the logo.
Sample of the pictograms, once again emphasizing the sharp curves and abstraction of the logo.
